More Cleanup....

Finally! Bobby and Cindy made it to the cabin! It only took them almost three years. They left home and were headed up to their retreat in the U.P. of Michigan and made a stop-over to see us. We picked them up in Nashville, ate a few White Castles, then took them back to the cabin. they spent that day and night and then had to leave early the next afternoon. (Yes, we stopped back at WC on the way back to the airport!). We did get to show them Pennyrile State Park and Cindy and Kim walked every foot of the Dawson Springs cemeteries looking for Sisk, Egbert and Bumpus relatives. We also couldn't get Cindy to stop climbing the hills and dragging tree branches back to the fire pit! Cindy would haul and Bobby would saw!

Well, as you can see in the picture, things have turned green at the cabin. On our last trip in February, the trees were all bare and the devastation from the ice storm was visible every where. We thought it would look bad the rest of this year. But once spring came things started growing and sprouting up. Once the leaves appeared then things started looking much better. Actually, even a lot of the tornado damage is hidden now. Plenty of trees still down and need to be cleaned up but the greenery has made it look pretty good. In another year or two it may be hard to remember how bad it looked.

Ray and Audra made it down after Cindy & Bobby left. Rick will be here late tonight for a couple of days and then he'll leave on Sunday. He'll be followed by Jimmie (for his first visit) and Michelle (who just completed her nursing school and we're very proud of) along with her daughter Amber (cute as a bug) and a friend of Amber's. The four of them will stay the night and leave Mnoday. After that it quietens down and our last guest will likely be our friend Terry who should arrive late Tuesday evening and will stay a couple of days. So we've had lots of company which we love.

There's still more cleanup to do and a couple of plumbing problems to try and fix on this trip. But overall it has been great and relaxing. Wish we could have made it up to No. Ky. to see the kids and grandkids but that wasn't possible on this trip. We'll see William and family in July back home. Still trying to get Missy and the kids down here but she had a broken bone or two to take care of so we'll try it next time.
