And Yes..... Another Wedding!

Well, we had another family wedding to go to. Our niece Heather married Jacob Domyan on 8-8-08. (There were over 2400 weddings in the Cincinnati area that day!)

So we packed up the Regal and headed back to the cabin on Friday 7/25. It was very hot there this trip and we know why we like to go there in the Spring and Fall! We knew we had a problem with the A/C so on the way there we called a guy in Dawson Springs and arranged for him to be there the next morning to take a look. It was a warm night even with fans!
Long story short, he showed up, found the leak and fixed it. Now we have ice cold air and we sure needed it! (Good time for some free advertising here: B.W. Akin Air Conditioning Service).

We knew we were having company that weekend and wanted it comfortable for people and for us also! Late Sunday evening our friends Rick and Terry came for 2 days. That was the first visit for Terry and she said she loved it there. We had a great time and Terry found a new store she loved.... Rural King!
Our friend Patti came Monday and spent two nights with us. It's always a good time when she's around.

After everyone left Kim and I did some cleaning, grass cutting, etc and put away the hummingbird feeders for the year. Yes, Kim got to see a few hummingbirds!

We closed up the cabin early Wednesday morning and left for Florence. We drove into Louisville for me to look at a couple of places I used to live when I was a boy and my first grade school (Benjamin Franklin). We also saw the Kentucky School For The Blind where my brother Glenn went for many years. Funny how everything looks so much smaller now.

We arrived late that day at Ray's house and found out that he had a busted main water line somewhere under ground. They managed to get it fixed by Friday and all is back to normal there.

After eating our fill of Skyline, Frisch's, White Castle, Papa Dino's and others, we made it to the wedding on Friday in Ault Park in Cincinnati and then had the reception in Devou Park in Covington. A nice time was had by all. After that we pretty much packed up and we spent the night at sister April's house since it was a few miles closer to home when we started out the next morning. That was it, up early Saturday and we drove straight through.

No more weddings planned this year so that may be our last trip for the year to the cabin.
