Another Trip To The Woods

Kim and I made another trip to the cabin on October 17th and stayed a week. The weather was nice and cool most mornings and evenings and just right when we worked outside. As in the past few trips we spent a lot of time cleaning up the trees and brush that were left from the tornado. We concentrated on the front of the cabin and the entrance lane. We burned a ton of it in the fire-pit and it really looks much better. A couple of trips like that and we'll have the front completely cleaned up.

We were visited by Audra and Corey and they spent one night with us. A couple of days later Kim's dad Ray came down with his friend Tim and they also spent a night with us. We used his truck to haul the limbs and brush from the front area to the fire-pit and that made it a fast way to clean up. I think we made 7 or 8 trips with full pickup loads so you can imagine how much wood we burned!

During one of our non-working days we took a trip around the area and went as far as Owensboro. It was a nice trip and we even found a White Castle and had lunch!!
We saw Lake Malone State Park and Kim found a beautiful home up for auction right on the lake. I actually think that if our house was sold she would have seriously considered living there.

We managed to find some porch furniture that we really love at Rural King in Madisonville. (Sorry Terry, we went without you!) We (Kim) had to assemble most of it and it looks great. We'll get it stained on our next visit.

So it was another fun trip and it just makes us want to get back there as soon as we can.
